Autoinducer synthetase LasI ( producing N-3-oxododecanoyl-HSL) with RBS and double terminator
The LasI protein which produces the chemical autoinducer signal N-3-oxododecanoyl-HSL was combined with a RBS and a double terminator in order to facilitate the construction of an expression cassette containing LasI.
Usage and Biology
In combination with a promoter of your choice this device can be used to create a LasI expression cassette. The RBS used will tune a medium expression level. Rate of transcription can be tuned by strength of promoter. The double terminator will prevent further transcription downstream of lasI.
The N-3-oxododecanoyl-HSL autoinducer molecules produced by LasI bind to LasR. This complex will bind to specific sequences in the regulatory region of the las promoter and induce gene expression.
